Now living and working in Beijing, Cao is acknowledged as one of the most talented artists specialising in multimedia installations and video art. Partly inspired by Surrealism, her works combine social commentary, popular aesthetics and documentary conventions. These videos and installations represent a commentary on the rapid and chaotic changes that are still taking place in modern China.
